About

Help empower the “DO”ers.

Sport Management students have two unique opportunities to participate in high impact practices.

FIFA World Cup 2026™: This summer, a select group of students will have the opportunity to travel to MetLife Stadium to work at the world’s largest international soccer tournament.

2026 Cortaca Jug at Yankee Stadium: In November, we will send an entire class to New York City for two days of events related to hosting the Division III football game between rivals SUNY Cortland and Ithaca College.

As you are aware, these experiential learning opportunities help in professional industry development, expanding professional networks and strengthening the cohesion between students and faculty. Many of our students may miss these opportunities due to financial constraints, and we are looking for support to assure students do not miss these professional, life-changing opportunities.

Your contributions on Challenge Day, April 15, will be designated to help offset the cost of student travel expenses such as transportation and hotel accomodations for both high impact experiences, creating unforgettable memories and provide unparalleled moments for learning.

We are currently seeking lead donors and/or matching gifts to incentivize others to give on Challenge Day. These levels begin at $1,000, and their impact creates philanthropical momentum. If you, or your company, have an interest in supporting SPM on Challenge Day, or in this calendar year, please contact me directly at tracy.trachsler@cortland.edu. Thank you for your consideration.
